I recently discovered a love for knitting! I have always wanted to learn how to knit, but it seemed to daunting a task. Back in June of last year I asked a friend if she would teach me how to knit. She wasn't a close friend, we see each other once a week at our WW meeting, anyway, she said she would be happy to, but really all I needed to do was search "cast on" in youtube.

Thinking to myself, surely it can't be that easy...I went to Joann Fabrics and bought a pair of knitting needles. I already had yarn at home. I also bought a small flip chart thingee on knitting. And I put all of it in my craft box where it would sit for another month.

Then one day I opened the box and thought, what have I got to lose? So I went to youtube as she suggested and it turns out, it really is that easy! So if any of you have been putting off learning to knit and you're a visual person like me...youtube!

That is when I realized I was a visual learner. I had to see it, watch it, in order to follow. Reading just didn't cut it for me. I was so excited to discover this about myself. I wondered why all the instructional manuals that came with camera's and computer's and anything else I needed to learn how to operate, I would hand over to my husband and say "would you please read this and then show me what to do"! :) Mystery solved.
